We are open at evenings and weekends for booked events.

About Woodhouse Community Centre

Oblong are a charity, and we run Woodhouse Community Centre for the benefit of local communities in Woodhouse, Little London and Hyde Park.

Every month about a thousand people pass through our doors.

Entry: Any of the following entry routes are possible, and access to
any other service is encouraged and supported.

Current Services:
All services operate under the Safer Spaces Policy and are
delivered in a trauma-informed environment.

Complex Needs Advice Service offers advice, guidance, and
signposting, to unravel people’s personal issues e.g benefits,
housing,medical, legal immigration, education etc. Reduces stress
and build resilience. Mainly by appointment.
Seva Lunch Club: Volunteers prepare and serve warm , hearty,
lunch on a pay-as-you-feel basis on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Communal tables and staff, volunteer, and centre user engagement
encourage social interactions and combat isolation. Drop in.
Headspace: A 7 week long training course, 2 hours per week, to
build and support mental wellbeing. Sign up necessary
The Present: a women’s 2hr weekly self defence support group
that builds skills and mental wellbeing. Sign up necessary
ABCD Pathfinder Project: Supports individuals to design and deliver volunteer led
community projects, supported by the Small Sparks Fund.
Sustainable development that focuses on strengthening
communities by identifying and mobilising existing, often invisible,
local assets—such as skills, passions, and networks—rather than
focusing on deficits and needs.
Volunteering: offers community members various roles in which to
volunteer. Building and sharing skills, knowledge, connections and

resilience. e.g. admin, catering, gardening, groupwork and
trusteeship.
Practical Support: Food bags, open food pantry, clothes rail, fuel
vouchers, bus tickets, crisis payments.
Volunteer led projects: ESOL, Parent’s & Tot’s Stay and Play
Support Group
