Role Title: Gardening and the Environment Volunteers

 

Time commitment: 2 - 7 hours per week

 

Role description: To work with other volunteers to maintain community gardens like Woodhouse Community Centre, Pennington Street and St Mark's. To undertake community environmental projects like a litter pick up or other activities that improve the local area like Woodhouse in Bloom or a community art project.

 

Main tasks: To maintain the community gardens.. To support other gardening volunteers by sharing skills and knowledge. To work with Oblong to ensure the Health and Safety of volunteers and visitors to the garden. To plan and deliver projects that improve our local community.

 

Skills description: Experience of maintaining a garden / allotment / piece of land. Ability to working with others and develop their skills and understanding. An understanding of basic Health and Safety in the garden.

A recent Data Barring Service check (CRB check) is required. If you do not have one then we will undertake a check.
