Communities Creating Change
Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd November 2014
10am - 4:30pm
Woodhouse Community Centre
Discuss: Your community’s needs and strengths
Learn: How to collaborate, engage and think together
Act: Practice new skills and make a plan for action
We will explore:
- our hopes, expectations and needs for our communities
- Appreciative Inquiry interviewing
- running fruitful meetings
- active listening
- the roles we play in group working and communication
- collaborative thinking
- capturing ideas effectively and creatively
- project planning, target-setting and evaluation
- power mapping and external communications.
You will get a chance to try out new practices you learn as we go along, and there will be space in the second session to further explore your own ideas and questions with others - and plan your next steps for action.
Free of charge, though donations are welcome. Please register so we know you're coming. (If you register but fail to turn up, without letting us know in advance, we may need to charge you because the cost of this event is provided by specific funding.)
Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Food will be vegetarian but please let us know if you have other dietary requirements.
Woodhouse Community Centre is accessible by bus lines 1, 6, 28, 51, 55 and 56. There is on-street parking available near the building.
